School Board Recognition Month-

January is School Board Recognition Month. Solomon Elementary School District and the community recognizes their school board with a token of appreciation. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of people leading our school district.

Superintendent Mr. England and Staff, thanked them for providing their leadership, their commitments to our students and our community, and their support of our mission to continually improve the education system for our students. Our district is without a doubt better because we have them on OUR team!

Dear Parents:

We take threats about bringing a gun/knives to school VERY seriously. Please talk to your child and remind them how this threat can affect everyone.

There was a problem here at school and it has been resolved with a suspension and disciplinary actions.

Thank You,
Mr. England

The regular school attendance of a child of school age is required by state law. Regular school attendance is essential for success in school; therefore, absences shall be excused only for necessary and important reasons. Such reasons include illness, bereavement, other family emergencies and observance of major religious holidays of the family's faith.

In the event of a necessary absence known in advance, the parent is expected to inform the school; if the absence is caused by emergency, such as illness, the parent is expected to telephone the school office. When a student returns to school following any absence, a note of explanation from parent is required.

Therefore, when a student is absent, it is necessary for the parent to call the school on or before the day of the absence in order to advise the school as to the reason for the absence. When it is impossible to call on the day of the absence, the school should be notified on the morning the student returns, in time for the student to obtain an admission slip prior to the student's first class. All Absences not verified will remain unexcused. For absences greater than one day in length, the school should be notified the day of the absence.

Dear Parents and Families:
The Solomon Governing Board voted on August 14, 2020 to reopen for in person learning starting August 24th.

The school will continue to offer distance learning for those who choose not to return at this time. We respect the decision of all our parents and appreciate your continued support and understanding. Mask wearing will be mandatory for all students over the age of 5 years old and for all staff and visitors.

Our Goals have not changed:

• To provide excellent educational opportunities for the students.
• To provide a safe environment for all students and staff.
• To continue to hire and retain highly qualified staff.

We will continue to monitor COVID-19 benchmarks and keep you informed.

Kevin W. England
