Week 8!
Please begin to work on your students animal habitat at home! These are DUE 9-10-25 If you need supplies let me know ASAP!!

HOMEWORK: *spelling packet, vocabulary, current event due FRIDAY
We have testing on Friday's. If there are make-up tests to take, I have to give during the student's recesses. I have no other time to give them. I do not want them missing the daily lessons.

I offer afterschool tutoring Monday-Thursday for those who are in need.
5th grade
Reading: By the end of Week 8, students will know: How to quote accurately from Hatchet to support answers and inferences. How to analyze character traits and explain how Brian changes throughout the story. How to identify and interpret figurative language and descriptive word choices in the text. How to determine the theme of a story (such as perseverance, courage, or resourcefulness) using text evidence. How to summarize a narrative by including characters, setting, important events, and theme. Key survival-related vocabulary words and how context clues help determine their meanings.
Writing: By the end of Week 8, students will know: By the end of the week, students will have: Revised, edited, and typed their final drafts. Gained experience presenting research findings clearly. Reflected on the research and writing process.
4th grade
Reading: By the end of Week 8, 4th graders will know: How to refer to text details to explain explicit meaning and make inferences. How to visualize a setting using descriptive language from the text. How to determine and use context clues to understand challenging vocabulary. How to identify the theme or author’s message and support it with evidence. How to summarize a nonfiction excerpt by capturing key elements—setting, main idea, important details, and theme.
Writing: By the end of Week 8, 4th graders will know: By the end of the week, students will have: Revised, edited, and typed their final drafts. Gained experience presenting research findings clearly. Reflected on the research and writing process.
